Lip service or Tongue-tied?
By- Pamarty Venkataramana
These are difficult times for those who are defending the ‘Total Lockdown era’. No matter where they stay, tweet, speak or reside, they are attacked by pseudo-intellectuals, Proxy Governance lovers, sapiosexual nationalists and tukde-tukde gang members through their spokespeople in the haloed desi press corps.
As a mark of respect to the Covid-Warriors, I deem it essential to supply few instant-responses for loyal pro-lockdown nationalists, when they are attacked at a talk-show debate on prime-time Television.
Please carry it along whenever log into your app on the smartphone to be beamed, outdoors!
Here we go:
1. Every country does it.
2. Even Wuhan and New York had a lockdown.
3. A head of Government can’t keep track of everything a local Satrap does.
4. The uninitiated Press is blowing up the medical analyses part of it.
5. Whatever PM Modi did was for national security and the good health of all 1.5 billion plus Indians and People of Indian origin.
6. The minuscule opposition-ranks are crying hoarse and sore because they lost the general elections and are at loggerheads amongst themselves to take over the reins of the vacant position of a ‘Leader of opposition’ in the Parliament.
7. Are you going to believe the Prime Minister of India or some midget-neta who has never manned an elected Government.
8. Wait till all the facts come out after the pandemic exits.
9. What about WHO failures?
10. If you bully the by now seasoned Modiji out of office, you get an untamed, confused Raul.
11. The only lurking ghost which haunts the Ruling party is the ‘cash for votes’ controversy of a few years ago.
12. What about the undisclosed sources of wealth aggrandised by a widow of late Prime Minister who has never been in any employment.
Not ‘the end’ !
The moot questions remain, though
1- Where to shift lodgers, residents of ‘containment zones’ when you are shifting pins on a drawing board to label newer ‘containment zones’ ?
2- Where to house the homeless, street people when you have ‘social distancing’
and ‘funds shortage’ as the common refrain ?
3- Where has the label of ‘migrant workers’ spring from in a land which belongs to all Indians, under a federal structure of Constitutional democracy?
4- Where has all that wealth accumulated by NGOs like Churches, Dargahs, Madrasas,
5- Where have all those huge profits announced, published by mega business Houses and industrial groups gone as they now clamour for succour from Government?
6- Where has the Constitution provided for ‘bailout’ of failing industries?
7- Where are all the elected corporators, MLAs, MPs hiding away without offering themselves ‘online’ accessibility even during a ‘total lockdown’ ?
8- Where has all the physical stock of printed currency disappeared in a ‘ no-audit’ scenario of ‘ad hoc’ aid supply to needy ‘Covid affected below-poverty people’ ?
9- Where has the spirit of ‘religion’ gone and titular Heads safely staying away from performing their most sacrosanct religious duties towards the unseen Lord, God, Deities and the devotees, pilgrims, needy & faithful believers?
10. Where is the code of conduct for barbarian policemen who lati-charged innocent grocery buyers but leave throngs of liquor buying mobs alone in royal escort style?
11. Where is the will power of a Ayush-Government which does not permit free field or clinical trials for Ayurvedic cure established by seasoned practitioners in the nation?
All blue-blooded patriotic Indians must agree that –
# A time to lock down feelings of sycophants, haters, ignorant masses and a time to allow literate ones rule over illiterate goons in many a disguise ruling systems of governance.
# A time more importantly, to let go of artificial divides on lines of cate, religion, sects or political ideologies and allow this God-given ‘Lockdown’ to let the 303-strong honourable MPs enact an uniform civil code via teleconferencing from their respective homes and usher in an era of ‘SWARAJ’, in its truest literal sense.
The Constitution alone is sacred.
Not the scared political players.
Together, we must overcome the foolish and artificial lines of division among ourselves and rebuild a #NewIndia from the ashes of the Covid-19 pandemic which has burnt away arrogance and pride of all world, today!
