A Head Ahead !
By- Pamarty Venkataramana
Covid -19, the fiercest pandemic to assault the modern world has certainly turned out to be a litmus-test for one and all leaders, across the Globe.
For the respective peoples of the world,it has become an hour of reckoning – about their personal values as well as of the community they hail from.
And, for the political outfits of various hues and shades, their avowed ideology is in full exhibition and public glare.
Let us address our attention to taking stock of our beloved motherland.
Since comparisons between different lands suffering one common tragedy are odious. And, most inhuman.
We, in India, are definitely blessed to have a dedicated ‘son of soil’ in Prime Minister, Modi Jee at the helm of affairs.
Undoubtedly, had it been a puppet or a poppat still at helm of Governance, the Nation of 1.3 plus billion people would have faced the unspeakable horror of countless casualties, of horrendous proportions.
Past horrible events like tsunami, earthquakes, cyclones,
All world suffered due to a by now despicable lapse on part of the W. H. O., the premier Body enjoined with the task of both prediction as well as control of diseases in the world (including deadly pandemics like the Corona virus).
The first victims were apparently from China. It being a land with Communist Ideology, is more a ‘closed society’ with information blackout. One goes only by official accounts of the CCP.
Europe and more particularly Italy where free travel to and fro continued by air travellers of all kinds became the first ground of battle against the life-snatching Virus. South Korea and other lands too faced and dealt with the disaster in their own localised political manner.
And, as the first few hundreds of Indian citizens and other foreigners flew in to India, our country too began to face the horror.
Although the baby steps taken by our Government were faltered (largely on account of lack of warning by the W.H.O.), it acted swiftly to announce a ‘total lockdown’.
Which was extended three times over.
And, into the fourth extension and 50+ days of a lockdown, India has been able to earmark all the essential infrastructure, remedial strategy and preventive measures for checking the further spread of this invisible Monster.
The Nation has risen as One, throwing aside past habits and staying put within the confines of their homes. They all cheered the covid warriors and different public figures have been contributing their might to the national fund and cause of healing the afflicted fellow-citizens.
In the course of the second month of a ‘total lockdown’, a hidden Achilles heel of the nation came to the fore.
We are one nation led by one flag, one anthem and one great Constitution but in absence of an uniform civil code, a segment of the society who subscribe to a 1500 years old belief of ‘Nothing can affect the Namazis’ had a mass congregation at Delhi with foreigners in attendance. Net result, the cases shot up and the attendees fled to all parts -thereby endangering the lives of everyone around them.
Compounding the scenario was a desperate opposition led media-onslaught playing along the century-old dirty game of ‘putting minority religion over best interests of the disciplined majority population’.
Idle minds became the devil’s workshop.
This has fuelled a sense of disdain and insecurity among the unorganized sector of farm, casual and contract labourers who had moved from their native places to other regions in the country. Large numbers of them began to feel alienated and quite a few being out of job and no earnings or daily wages to purchase food and essentials of life, started a homeward journey by foot. Trudging miles and miles in scorching heat and otherwise beastly environment.
Not to forget the general alarm raised about a need for -‘social distancing’.
Political parties and press media started playing cupid to Paranoia and Pandemic. ‘Conditions-of-distress’ resulted in ping-pong games between pundits of ‘Co operative federalism’ and advocates of ‘anti establishment’ brigade.
All hell seemed to break loose.
State Chief Ministers seeking repeated extension of the ‘total lockdown’ even as home grown ‘Magi of Economics’ began to cry shrill over zero productivity.
Doomsday-folks began to spread gloom and despair everywhere they spoke, tweeted or went.
Then came the announcement by the composed Pratam Sewak, Modi Jee of a ‘Covid Relief Package’ of sum equal to 10 % of the gross domestic product.
The stunning news has numbed the opposition ranks who were demanding a little above half this sum. So much so that hard core communists began to oppose the resounding call of ‘Turn Swadeshi Again’ (the reds began to tout FDI as the divine prescription) for revival of desi economy in a world where travel across countries would be akin to inter-galactic travel.
And, the Honourable Minister of Finance has begun to spell out relief measures for small/medium scale industries and those below the designated poverty-line who have all been rendered helpless and lost by this humanitarian crisis which has struck all world. As is understandable, procedures would be laid down by officials lower down the hierarchy of administration.
Not to be defeated, the defeatists in opposition parties and their patrons abroad have been questioning as to how the Central Government is going to mobilise such an enormous fund when all have admitted that the economy is in dire straits.
It is essentially on account of this wicked approach by a sad set of people that one is compelled to essay the role of an insider with an outsider-view. Role of every citizen is complementary to that of the Government Head.
Every person, beginning from a so-called ‘migrant-worker’ to a film-maker to industrialists of all sizes have been saying in one voice that the total lockdown caused by the pandemic has occasional loss to them. And, yet in the same breath have been estimating projections of how they are going to rebuild their fortunes.
On what basis do those aspiring to buy real estate, become celebrated film personalities or turn successful in new start-ups declare their respective dreams?
WITHOUT having the where with all to translate these dreams they carry in the darkness of an unequal society?
So, how then does it become a ‘jhumla’ if the Honourable Prime Minister and his Cabinet has set out to infuse rupees 20 lakh crores in the system, with a view to revive the spirits and activities of the 130+ billion population?
This is the background in which a determined patriotic Prime Minister will drive the ‘Chariot of Life’ .
First priority being to save precious lives and protect all families. Simultaneously, we infuse necessary funds by disrupting corrupt practices of past regimes where literally dumb, propped-up Prime Minister candidates have only played to scripts of the ventriloquists, abroad.
This is a time which tests not only the national character but the character of every single Indian.
Those who oppose the most positive strategy spelt out now by the Government are patently inhuman and not worth the adhar card, pan card, passport they possess.
Not that we can still to their lowly levels and remind them about the air, water, food, freedom and any respect they earn for their existence belongs to this ancient civilization of Santana Dharma.
Please spread the good word. Vibrant India is not on a ventilator. It’s economy is robust. Newer policies shall but emerge to redesign a changed Future. And, it is not for cub reporters or general public to prove into the mind of a State. The Constitution guides all new policies and the post-Covid structural governance will be a world incomprehensible to nay-sayers of ‘sab k villas through sab k viswaas’!
Do boycott all that demented wailing by jealous ones out to malign the zealous Teams of Covid warriors.
Our most hard-working duo of Prime Minister and Home Minister deserve all praises and they have emerged as Covid Warrior Number Uno.
Vasudaiva Kutumbikam [ all world is one cohesive Family ].
Everyone’s Life IS as precious as the other’s.
JAI HIND! 🙏

It is nicely highlighted and really commendable. Some people criticise because they are habitual of criticising without looking at the national interest. Kudos
