Fountain of twilight media : Disinformation

Dear Sir,
The late Nizam was wavering on his decision to secede to the Republic of India and his dithering stand led to Operation Polo on orders of then Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
During the said period and pursuant to the Standstill Agreement too, the Nizam had transferred in 1948 , a sum of £1,007,940 to Habib Ibrahim Rahimutoola, High Commissioner in London of the newly- formed Pakistan. This was deposited by the latter in Llyods Bank : this was signed over by Nizam’s Finance Minister arbitrarily into diplomatic account of Pakistan in London.
A cable sent by the Nizam asking the fund be transferred back was ignored; this led to a legal battle. Soon after, operation Polo happened leading to the surrender of the Nizam and inclusion of territories into the Republic of India.
In 1957, the case reached the House of Lords which ruled that the account could only be unfrozen with agreement of all the parties involved.
A diplomatic row of sorts continuously raged on since then and few years back, Union Cabinet of India agreed for an out of court settlement between the Pakistan Government and heirs of deceased Nizam (Government of India reportedly having agreed to waive it’s interests in favour of the heirs of late Nzam).
But no progress has been made despite show of strength by splinter groups of claimants to being legal heirs of the last Nizam who is fabled to have sired a hundred and odd children through 86 mistresses besides the officially wedded legal four wives of whom the daughter, Ahmedunissa Begum died Unmarried and issueless whereas sons Azam Jah and Moazam Jah begot Mukaram Jah & Mufakam Jah (sons of Azam Jah who pre- deceased the Nizam) and Fatima Fouzia and two other sisters, Amina Mirzia & Ouliya Kulsum who are reported to be abroad along with their progeny.
Thus, the process of reconciliation is an arduous one.
However, noted international lawyer and Jurist, Pamarty Venkataramana is said to be discussing an amicable settlement with all involved parties to this unique and decades old international dispute.
The sum is now £ 30 million.
The reports of ‘ongoing’ court battles are aberrations of history.
And is but just another portion of the vast fortune being claimed by the legal heirs of the world’s wealthiest man of his times.
It is of foremost importance to note that there is no ‘titular’ Nizam after the last Nizam seceded to the Sovereign Republic of India.
The Honourable High Court of Andhra Pradesh had ruled long ago that a so-called ‘Certificate of Succession’ issued in favour of his grandson Mukaram Jah (son of late Azam Jah, his elder son who predeceased the last Nizam) is illegal, null & void since every citizen was equal in legal status after independence of India and he was akin to any other ordinary Muslim citizen after secession to the Sovereign Republic of India.
As such, reports of ‘Prince’ and successor are misinformed pieces of ‘ape-journalism’ .
It may be also be pointed out that the Parliament of India abolished titles and privy purses long ago!
Reporting be factual, authentic and eye-openers. Not be carriers of disease of misinformation.
In the instant case, the battle is between the divided nation of India and its lost portion called as Pakistan.
Only a diplomatic solution can be arrived at as suggested by this Chief Counsel-
70% to India; 20% to Pakistan and 10% to legal heirs proving their relationship as legal heirs of the long deceased last Nizam, His Exalted Highness Sir Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur.
India should use Saudi Arabia as an interlocutor for this as well as seeking a large parcel of land at Saudi where Indian Government can construct a huge grand mosque in lieu of demolished Babar masjid (and thereby rebuild the abode of Lord Sri Rama at Ayodhya ).
Peace be unto all Mankind. Let Press become the lighthouses of knowledge and wisdom ; not continue to be barbarians of paid media malaise ).
Jai Hind!
Thanks and regards,
PVR
