One, Two, Three?
By Pamarty Venkataramana
Worship is not a ritual. It is an act of faith. A reinforcement of belief. Belief in the existence of an Almighty – a supernatural force , as even the confounded scientists, rationalists and atheists would admit, although grudgingly..
Reverence is worship. A higher form of illiterate, semi literate and highly erudite soldiers’ salute . Not, kowtowing to whoever dons the habits, cloaks and firmament of the pastor, priest, pundit, mullah or a rabbi. Not necessarily rituals or customary traditional actions of offerings being placed in a fire or kissing the outstretched palm of the bishop or a head of a sect.
Who then, is the recipient of all this obeisance? Is it Almighty God who is remembered or white innumerable names and words uttered, chanted or mumbled whilst offering submission of one’s good faith in the unseen, indefinable, super powerful God?
And, who is a beneficiary of all this grandiose recognition of the Almighty? Is it ‘Him-Her-Them’ or we, the ones who bow on all fours, prostrating with respect or those who crawl on bent knees and exercise on their toes or them who merely swing their hand around the eyes, to express love for this GOD?
Even more so, are those who denounce existence of Almighty God using their self-grown intellect of reasoning, rationale and rhetorical diatribe, not breathing free and enjoying the fruits of life, love and universe-sans the declaration of faith? Are they, the ultimate-beneficiaries?
All things considered, our planet of apes has transformed into planet of drones..
Everything is technologically driven. Religion turned one of gadgetry. A natural ambition of all youngsters is to rise, shine in business world. Start-ups more than family -succession, are the carrots dangling before a world naturally tilted towards Loans-debt-borrowings driven society. No longer is it taboo to shun traditional streams as medicine, law, teaching and agriculture to turn into all those post-bubble dotcom entrepreneurs, of Silicon Valley as well as it’s many imitations, around the globe…
Business?
One-third of all world carries it’s business in the name of ‘God’. Of various religious enominations, hues, shades, symb ols, artifacts, crafts, flags, idolatry, symbolism, paraphernalia and icons of these channels of business.
Another one-third derives it’s business sense in opposing GOD and adherents of these various faiths. Loosely dubbed the ‘commies’ and the ‘rationalists’. These clans of human agglomerations derive their sustenance from a denigration of the age-old, time-tested, solid beliefs of ancient civilizations around the world today. They rebel, oppose values which have stood the tests of time and vagaries of Nature. But, they little submit a valid answer to the moot question-‘why then are you not immortal, as the Gods of those devout, faithful masses?
So, we are left with the remainder one-third, comprising of those in-betweens, the ‘umpteen shades of grey’.. They are opportunists, selfish, dishonest , vacillating minds who profess to be neither religious nor atheist in character. As the animals, they roam about in search of pastures, preys and seldom pray. They are the ones who, as a mist of the early morning or dew of the leaves before sun-rays send them into thin air, remain present on rolls of the governments of the world as human-beings. They do not have a conviction of their own. The lazy vagabonds, juvenile criminals, scum of society fall under this category. Not being led by any real goals in life or a secure path of ambition, these creatures are as worms that germinate a marshy swampland.
Anarchy.
Certainly not perpetrated by the religious lot. For, they all seek an orderliness in their dealings with society and one another.
Commies? Oh, they are a spent-force. Communism died away with emergence of perestroika in former U.S.S.R. China is more capitalist and like DPK than what was envisaged by Chairman Mao Tse-tung when he crossed the sea with a band of a dozen faithful…gone are those ideals and passion for universal upliftment, against tyranny..
The Third One-Third
These are the moles of well-defined systems of societal-governance who have infiltrated through the firewalls of law and order. They are parasitical in their existence. They loot, plunder, steal, hoard, hold and snatch others’ possessions, be it sanity, honor or material wealth. Dignity and self-respect are terms unknown to the ilk. However, if lassoed by long arm of law and good governance, these insects exterminate by scurrying around for cover. Quite a few rush to god men or rationalist camps to merge with them. Others who feel as fish out of water, in an orderly society, commit suicide.
Sociological and cultural factors do not make any difference in the mental make-up and common psyche of this third one-third of planet Earth. So, reign in these tadpoles of anarchy. How?
By ending freebies and subsidies. By compulsory conscription of all youth. By strict enforcement of rule of law. More importantly, by restricting entry of illiterates as well as criminals from contesting for elections or nomination to public offices and honors.
Religion is no more the last resort of pseudos and political goons. It has become the first target of all self-professed rationalists and non-believers of God Almighty!
Business houses are not run by entrepreneurial skills but by way of defaulted loans, media publicists and linking up with similarly situated shops of loot and tax evasion. Monopolistic, unfair and restrictive trade practices galore. All criticize the United Nations as an impotent body but what about domestic institutions like the judiciary who is much maligned for misdeeds more of it’s clerical staff and court registry that entertains and registers frivolous suits for the kind attention of the judges than throwing them away as non – valid applications, in the very first stage? What about autonomous bodies of research and scientific temper? Or, the banking, insurance bodies of public trust? Why permit registration of scientific workers associations and bank officers associations which invariably behave as trade unionists or dock labour behave?
Change the third one-third
By, chaining the second one-third, to their hypocrisy.
And, changing the first one-third to turn true followers of religion of universal-ism, spirituality and in oneness of mankind..
Who bells the cat?
Of course, the Government – of the people, for the people, by the people …
And, who changes, controls, disciplines the constitution, composition and character of an elected non-composite Government ?
We,t he people are hapless spectators. Tied down as bullocks of a plough in an agricultural-field ..
In God we trust.
But, one, two, three?
All!
Yes, God is omniscient, omnipresent.
How one wishes God graces Governments too…!
