The worst feared is coming true in Iraq. ISIS or call it ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) has been winning areas after areas or in other words, the official Iraqi army is losing areas after to this new terror outfit in Iraq. This is sad part of the story but but it should also be eye opener for all Islamic world because killing of thousands of innocent, unarmed Shia Muslims at the gun point, having killing has no parallel in recent history, by no other religion but by their own Sunni brothers.

ISIL’s vicious insurgency against the Nouri Al-Maliki government in Baghdad and ambition to lead the global jihadi movement, make it an even more dangerous outfit than Al-Qaida. In fact, the two groups have been engaged in a bloody feud in Syria over ISIL’s refusal to submit to Al-Qaida’s diktat. With ISIL leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi now declaring himself the Caliph, equations in the Muslim world are being written anew.
For those who are not very much conversant of Caliphata or “Khalifa, as pronounced in India & in Arabic language”, the Caliph is the head of state in a Caliphate, and the title for the ruler of the Islamic Ummah, an Islamic community ruled by the Shari’ah.
In fact Mahatma Gandhi & Indian Congress started Khilafat movement (1919–1924) to support & protect the Ottoman Empire during the aftermath of World War I. Though it was a pan-Islamic, political protest campaign launched by Muslims in British India to influence the British government and to protect, it won the support of Indian Hindus because of its anti-British overtones while the illiterate Indian public took it as Khilafat(opposition) movement due to name’s confusion.
With the insurgent group the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) declaring the establishment of a Caliphate over areas under its control in Iraq and Syria, the international community can no longer sit back and watch developments getting unfolded. The declaration by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has shunned all the hopes for a new moderate Sunni state emerging from the current turmoil in Iraq. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has declared that
“Those who can immigrate to the Islamic State should immigrate, as immigration to the house of Islam is a duty. Terrify the enemies of Allah and seek death in the places where you expect to find it,” he said. “Your brothers, on every piece of this earth, are waiting for you to rescue them.”
Should the so-called ISIL Caliphate be allowed to thrive, it could turn into a most dangerous terror state because of the money it may get from Iraq oil including terror sympathizer groups. Its existence poses a threat to sovereign nations across West Asia and the world. It has already demolished the border between Syria and Iraq. ISIL has ready displayed its hatred against Shias in Iraq and Syria by killing them in thousands. It has pledged to destroy the Shia holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. With its Caliphate, ISIL now claims spiritual and temporal leadership of the Sunni faith.
It is always suspected that Saudi Arabia is helping ISIL as it helps many terror groups. But with new advent of ISIL’s declaration of Caliphate, ISIL has come into direct conflict with Saudia. This group may turn into Riyadh’s Frankenstein’s monster with it planning of disdaining Arabic Nations & Monarchs.
The ISIL threat has mutated to a point where it can no longer be seen through the prism of Shia-Sunni sectarian strife. The US and Gulf Arab monarchies need to shift focus from their anti-Assad strategy in Syria and work with Iran to tackle the ISIL menace.
The proclamation of the Caliphate may force regional players to finally work together. The present regime of Al-Maliki has proved to be incapable of handling Iraq’s sectarian imbroglio. It must make way for a national consensus government involving Shias, Sunnis and Kurds. The international community must sit together to stop the ISIL advance now.
India has large Muslim voice. Many Muslim families have their family members in Gulf to earn extra buck for them. They are Shia & Sunni both. All the Muslim along with other section of the society must raise the voice against ISIL’s cruelty, unjust acts of exploitation, oppression, and wrongdoing. It must stop now otherwise the day is not far off when ISIS may acquire nuclear bomb & explode on their own Muslim brothers.
Now the time has come when all Islamic groups must do retrospection that why their youth is getting so much violent inspite of peace being taught on Islamic religion. Certainly whole world, other than Islam, can’t be at fault & against Islam. Whole world can’t conspire against Islam. And, if for argument sake, it is presumed that whole world is wrong, only Islam is right then why ISIL is killing Shia only & destroying their worship places. So please think, meditate & find solutions for the problem Muslim brothers are facing.

Sir!Its horrifying the state of Iraq.I am speechless to comment. One live video was sent to me which disturbed me mentally. Read it as you had written. Not able to understand the mentality of these crude people. Nothing more can express.
