It was a cold boring winter evening in Texas and I was waiting in my car at a red signal. Humming slow  songs from my car stereo was soothing my mood and even lulling me to sleep. I have to keep awake to reach my destination. She occupies my thought as I miss her so much. The only questing was making loop in my mind “Why did she come into my life and where did she disappear?” I searched for her everywhere but it was like a cloud covering the moon and i couldn’t find her anywhere. First time I saw her in a park. She was sitting opposite to me. With blonde hair, I saw the sun in the west, golden stands flowing over her gently shaped shoulders. She was wearing a denim jeans and a white top and was goodness of simplicity. What would her name be, Sarah? Michelle? Ann? or EVA? What is she doing here? Is she come to visit her relatives? She did not seem to have urgent business. I don’t think she has any boyfriend although any guy would be lucky to have her. I hadn’t loved anyone  for years, and felt unable to reconnect with anyone after my last girl friend left me. I was so broken hearted. Never again i thought, but this sudden instant crush hit me. I felt alive, young, nervous and happy again. I looked at her again, our eyes met, for an instant i froze and kept looking at her. Her eyes were brown and I loved her brown eyes and her. Suddenly I could see  tears flowing from her eyes turning her eyes reddish, her pinky lips were trembling and becoming yellowish. Her eyes narrate a sad story.

I went and sat next to her &  asked her softly what happened? She did not reply and kept weeping. There was silence for sometime. then she said “thanks for caring!” I did not want to ask her reasons for her sadness. I told her “It is almost 7 ‘o’ clock and it is becoming dark, shall I drop you anywhere?” She replied “I have no place to go!” I was in shock! I thought i didn’t hear properly. “What?? I was shocked. She said “Yes, i don’t have anyone here. Please don’t  ask me.” I offered her to stay at my place without revealing her past. She thought for a moment & nodded in affirmative.

Suddenly a car honked waking me up cutting my thoughts about the past. I couldn’t sleep that night, I was so disturbed. Next morning as usual i went for a jog, I met my friend Joe, he asked me as to why i look so dull and lost, I replied, my thoughts are always after Jesica. Did you find about her. I said no. I sat on the bench after jogging, again my thoughts went back. I felt very happy and was in the cloud 9 when she said she will come with me to my house. I prepared dinner for her. She took bath and came, I gave my clothes to change. Looking at the way she ate food, i guess she has not eaten food for so many days. After food she looked more relaxed and comfortable.I asked her name, she said Jessica I said, beautiful name, she said, thanks. Days passed, i didn’t ask about her past and i was not interested in her past also as I was happy with her in present She also seemed not interested in what i’m doing.  Days passed, we became intimate friends.  And our friendship blossomed into a relationship. If we could only have this life for one more day. if we could only turn back time. you know I’ll be your life, your voice, your reason to be my love, my heart is aching for this moment in time. I would have found words to say before you leave me. There is no future without you.

Thinking about her I went to the bar, while I was having few drinks, I could hear the cry and shout of a woman a little away from my table. I asked the waiter for toilet, he showed me the way, I entered into a  passage and found a room where the door was locked, I could hear a lady crying, I peeped through the key hole to see, to my surprise, i could find a lady with mouth plastered and hands tide, I could see only her eyes, It’s the brown eyes, same eyes like Jessica. I was confused, is that my love Jessica? Why here? I couldn’t believe my eyes. I shed tears, Tears shed for another person are not sign of weakness, they are a sign of pure heart and my pure love for her. At that instance I heard sound of boots, somebody coming this way. I got my composure back when i noticed that it was a bar security guard who  came near to me and asked, what are you doing here? I was looking for the rest room, I said. The guard was not convinced about my reply but he still showed the way to restroom. I quickly drove back home, her eyes face still was coming back to my mind. I was getting more obsessed with her. As i was rotating in the chair in my study room, I noticed a paper hanging out, my eyes stumbled upon a piece of paper lying on the table between the book, my heart was fluttering and my thoughts were on the potential content of that paper, how did I  miss that all these days??

The letter read like this, “Dear Sam, you have been a good friend of mine, never asked my past, i have written this note to you because i know one day i will be in danger because of my boy friend who wanted to push me into drug sales which i resisted. He tied me up and hit me He and his gang was very cruel. I somehow escaped from their clutches. I was waiting in the park without knowing what to do, that’s when we met. You came into my life as a ray of hope and i know you will save me from all danger. I love you a lot. Bye, Jessica.”

Oh God! my love Jessica was in danger and i never realized it. I need to save her at any cost. Now was determined to save Jessica. I immediately drove down to the same pub. Though it was locked from the outside, i could sense that somebody was inside. I opened the door with the false keys i had, and at the end of the passage, I could find three goons terrorising jessica. My blood boiled,  and immediately i drew my gun and shot the three of them. Jessica ran into my arms, That’s when she realized that i was a private detective whose help she could have taken immediately after our park encounter. All is well that ends well.
