Changing societal mores have relegated religion, philosophy and moral schemes to the backbench, right from school-curriculum through film-scripts to policies of public-governance.
And, babudom, as even the civics student or avid film-goer knows today, is the mistress of political-class. They control all policy-making, procedural-wrangling and checkmate-tricks in corridors of governance. The lowliest among them all rises to highest position, as a mark of respect to faithfulness – as a virtuous quality.
The lone mariner. Alone at sea. In high seas, dark storms and on rocky shores. He has no team of sailors nor gadgetry to map his coordinates. No satellite phone. Nor, a ship with a huge mast. Just a little old ship. His years of sea torn wrinkles on a rugged face. The only luxury being a pair of soldier’s gum boots he used zealously from days of compulsory conscription in the territorial army.
