Macbeth,Ukraine and TRP Wolves

‘The destruction wrought when ambition goes unchecked by moral constraints’ was amply reflected in Shakespeare’s classical work – ‘ Macbeth ‘.

Eleven centuries after its setting, the world has been mute witness to its enactment on the Ukrainian theatre of war.
Or so, it appears.

This is not a battle for territorial supremacy,as alleged.

It is not an exhibition of war histrionics for weapon-suppliers and arms-buyers either.

It is a gross display of greed by lusty wolves who hog limelight for TRP-fodder.

To rake in both the moolah and the fame

⁃ like the mullahs who scream loud and long over loudspeakers to gather their flock and rule over their vulnerable minds in the name of an almighty who according to them has neither form nor shape.

Likewise,these hounds of television studios.

These media savants have instincts of wild,beastly-animals and do not have any national interest at heart.

In the name of universality,they keep delivering obnoxious news with the avaricious motive of minting money.

They have no moral obligations and no decency:they do not seem to care for sensitivity and sensibilities of a victimised society.

The blood-curling war-cries of joyous raptures at accumulating wealth and maximum TRP rating is admittedly their cause for existence and to stand projected as numero uno in the myopic sphere of video journalism,the sole aim.

Macbeth is a courageous General who is not naturally inclined to commit evil deeds, yet he deeply desires power and advancement. So also these ‘nation wants to know’ breed of studio Loch Ness- like Beings. They are sighted but not seen. They do not exist but are reportedly seen by viewers.

To braid these wayward over-zealous characters ought to be the immediate task of #GoodGovernance mandarins or else a series of self-goals and not cheerleader-euphoria is going to greet the politicians in harness of a constitutional democratic nation.

How does one go about it?

Simple,ask these zealot channels to flash on their screens – ‘Who are the real owners of the channel?’ and also – ‘ Who are original publishers of the content and news-feed?’.

Irony goes for a toss as tragedy occupies the final scene in all such plays.

Rein in the brigand TRP – hungry media channels or else,dystopian future becomes the present as well as present continuous.

The conflagration of the #UkranianRussiaConflict is a live example of how it is misinformation,disinformation and TRP hungry-wolves that incite,spread,abet and stretch a war to tragic proportions of ‘no-winners and all casualties only’ , at the end.
