It was 9th July 1947 in San Francisco near California. There lived a black boy, his father left his mother as soon as he born. He was raised by his mother who used to work for 20 hrs a day as maid in a houses. It was too difficult to get single square meal a day. Unfortunately due to malnutrition and lack of vitamin D, the boy was hit by rickets where in his bones became so thin, soften & fragile that just by running hard, he had chances of getting his bone fracture easily. Because of which his friends would call him “Pencil Pins” teasing his legs. Ans also due to rickets, the boy used to feel hungry too fast than others..
He was mad about football since his childhood. He used to sit and watch others playing football. He always used to play football in his dream.
Jim Brown
There came a NEWS that one of legendary player of that period JIM BROWN will play a game in nearby football club. The boy was in his peak of happiness to see his favorite football player’s game live. But he was too poor to afford tickets to see his idol in action. Somehow, he managed to get into stadium without ticket. He was sitting in last row eating a half eaten bread thrown by someone. He was encouraging Jim Brown for his every move, even Brown played match superbly hitting 3 goals taking his team to victory..
As match finished all kids and Jim Brown fans surrounded him to praise him and to get his autograph. This boy, with his thin legs, took little extra time to reach middle of the ground. Soon he managed to bypass the crowd and reached near to Brown.
He started pulling Jim Brown hand & Brown asked what?
Boy replied: “Sir u run like deer”. Brown said thanks..
After few minutes again he pulled his hands. BROWN again asked what??
He said:” Your second goal was excellent, I have all your records list in my home, ”
Brown again replied thanks. After few min he again started to pull his hands.
This time BROWN got angry and scolded him” I’ll hit you if you pull again. What’s your problem”?
Boy replied: “Wait for few years, I’ll be the one to break all your records”…
Listening to the 10 years old rickets affected boy’s words BROWN was shocked. He never understood what this small kid is speaking about, how rickets can affected guy run or play football? After it both left stadium.
O.J. Simpson
Exactly after 16 years that boy broke all records of Brown and became legendary football player. He is none other than “O.J.SIMPSON“. Simpson was the first professional football player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a season. He holds the record for the single season yards-per-game average which stands at 143.1 ypg. Simpson was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. After completing his football career Simpson became professional actor.
For the question how he achieved such a success he said “Aim high, it may not be today but one day your determination will make you reach your aim for sure”…
Here we can end SIMPSON’s story but his words should last forever. He is a great inspiration for all youngsters who feel they are poor, they have problem which is firewall for their success. Then they must remember
“AIM TO SKY, EVEN IF YOU FAIL, YOU WILL FALL IN CLOUD”..
