Ape not, Pappu!
by – Pamarty Venkataramana
The company you keep . Perhaps the very first common lesson taught by all parents and teachers to children . We all were and have heard this often – even in later years .
Am sure quite many of my ‘married’ readers would be listening to this phrase from their spouse too!
So,would we as political animals indoctrinated to societal happenings and odd occurrences throughout the world outside our own realm of real life aspire to have the company of peace loving strangers on a stroll in the public park or prefer to accompany hordes of unknown trolls that attack as armies do with assault of verbal abuse and demeaning taunts in this most sociable ‘social media jungle ‘ ?
Will you prefer your progeny to ape 🦍 the pappu or sip whisky with a whiskered page-3 femme fatale?
Or,do they love to bunk classes for those dope sellers’ addas in innocuous looking pan shops outside fashion technology institutes and engineering campuses ?
Would you rather like your wards to hold the broom and sweep the streets or to help the blind cross the street ?
Do you envisage your genes to grow up into an immortal Albert Einstein or a mortal ramp walking actress of sorts ?
Is it the long term or the short term which attracts your family ?
Weed out the opposing thoughts. Water the positively crime-free , moral thoughts about life and lifestyle.
Inculcate these in your selves and at least invite a zest and live for such peaceful ‘ moral ‘ longings in the next generation.
This is the least one can do amidst a cacophonous mad maddeningly fastidious world we are all fast hurtling towards…!
